Running Time: Approx. 95 mins.
In post-9/11 New York, a blogger turned stand-up comic, an obsessive political gadfly and a high-school math teacher compete against each other and arch rival incumbent Michael Bloomberg for the post of New York City mayor. Dissatisfied with America’s richest mayor, they put their faith in democracy and the power of do-it-yourself citizenship.
But, as they soon discover, running for office in the United States of America is not all that it's cracked up to be. Faced with a mass media indifferent to their cause, and an electoral system that caters to the rich established parties, these underdogs will do anything possible to participate in an election. While Seth, the teacher, feverishly pursues the elusive goal of 7,500 petition signatures, Andy, the blogger, performs his campaign in comedy clubs, and Christopher, the gadfly, resorts to guerilla tactics to get his voice heard at Democratic Party events.
Can Andy, Christopher and Seth find a way to bring about the change they seek? Will the powers that be—security guards, TV hosts, petition inspection officers—thwart their creative attempts to reclaim the promise of their beloved metropolis?
Will they be able to reclaim the promise of New York?
